- Md. Shoriful Islam is working with utmost dedication as an Associate Professor (Finance) and Head of the Department of Business Administration at Sonargaon University (SU), Dhaka, Bangladesh. He has been serving in this position since 26 April 2026. He has recently completed his PhD study under the government scholarship named Presidential Scholarship of the Chinese Government at Business School of Zhengzhou University, Henan Province, China with major in Applied Economics. Previously, he obtained a BBA and an MBA with a specialization in Finance and Banking from Rajshahi University, Bangladesh, where he secured second position in his batch and was awarded a gold medal for outstanding performance in the BBA. His research interests include social finance, socioeconomic sustainability, microfinance, green financial innovation, and overall sustainable development. He is methodologically skilled in STATA, EViews, and R, and applies these tools effectively in advanced empirical analysis. He has published multiple papers in SSCI-indexed, JCR Q1, ABS, and Scopus-indexed journals, including Sustainable Development and Green Innovation and Development. He also serves as a reviewer for several SSCI/SCI/Scopus international journals, earning recognition for his academic contributions. He attended 12+ academic conferences as a participant and speaker during his doctoral studies.
